Public Health | Seattle & King County is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and flexible dentist to fill a full-time position at the Downtown Public Health Clinic. Our program seeks to build relationships with people living homeless by providing compassionate care and low barrier access to dental services. Our providers commonly work with patients who have complex behavioral and medical needs, including substance use disorder. The candidate selected for this position will be able to work well within a team environment and demonstrate an interest in serving vulnerable adults and teens. In addition to preventive and restorative services, our clinic provides oral surgery procedures and removable prosthodontics. As is the standard for the program, staff may be asked to work outside of regular hours or from a different location for trainings or if urgently needed.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. These hours are subject to change with advance notice.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical duties as allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, RCW 18.32.
- Provide primary clinical dental services to targeted high-needs populations.
- Collaborate with site management and other staff dentist to provide leadership in quality dental practice and optimum team functioning.
- Provide oversight of clinical dental practice.
- Provide professional and technical expertise and direction to dental assistants/dental hygienists.
- Attend off-site staff and dental practice meetings with the ability to return to work site within a reasonable timeframe.
- Diagnose, plan and provide dental treatment to clients.
- Educate and counsel clients on oral health issues.
- Prescribe medications for a variety of oral health conditions.
- Consult with other health care providers on treatment options and procedures.
- Document all medications, evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, referrals and consultations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Washington State License to practice dentistry.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of Dental Public Health Practice.
- Ability to provide leadership and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in quadrant dentistry.
- Demonstrated experience with removable prosthetics.
- Demonstrated experience working in a community or public health setting.
- Applicants bilingual in English and Spanish are desired.
